Athlete featured in Register

Simpson volleyball player Tara Christensen was featured in Thursday’s Des Moines Register for her outstanding work at Simpson on and off the court.
During Simpson’s 3-0 victory over Dubuque Wednesday night in Indianola, Christensen, a senior setter from Hinton, Iowa, tallied 34 assists, surpassing the 5,000 mark for her career.
Already the program’s all-time assists leader after handing out 30 assists in a 3-1 win against Loras on Sept. 15, Christensen became the first player in the history of Simpson volleyball to reach the 5,000-assist plateau.
In addition to being a member of the Simpson volleyball team, Christensen also gives tours to prospective students through the admissions office.
