Camwell performs recital
Nov. 2, 2009
Dave Camwell, assistant professor of music, will be performing a faculty recital on Nov. 2 featuring pieces of Gotkovsky, Paganini, Bozza, Koechlin, Noda and Maurice.
He will be assisted by Dr. Ron Albrecht (piano) and Dr. Kim Helton (flute).
The performance will be held in Lekberg Hall at 7:30 p.m.
In 2008, he released a classical saxophone CD entitled "Aeterna." Camwell has also performed at jazz festivals all over the world and has performed with the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra and the New York Central City Chorus. Camwell’s faculty recital will feature pieces that are accessible to audiences that may not be overly familiar with classical music.
“The music that will be performed will be a mix between classical music, and the music that Eddie Van Halen would likely play if he gave up his guitar and became a classical saxophonist,” said Camwell.
