Oct. 17, 2007
Lisa Wagner, founder of the Still Point Theatre Collective, will discuss her group’s work Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in Lekberg Hall.
The group performs plays that confront current issues or celebrate leaders such as Dorothy Day. They also put on workshops for the developmentally disabled and for women in correctional facilities in Chicago.
Wagner will be discussing how the group uses theater to reach the disabled and women in prison. She will show part of a documentary about the group and perform excerpts from “Strong Women,” a theatrical piece based on poetry written by women in jail.
