Visiting musician performs

Jillian Camwell, oboe and English horn instrumentalist, will perform at Simpson College Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Lekberg Hall.
Camwell will perform works from Philip Bimstein and Srule Ivring Glick.
Camwell has played third oboe and English horn with Orchestra Iowa since 2005. She has also been a part of the Des Moines Metro Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Eugene Symphony, Eugene Opera Orchestra, and Greeley and Calgary Philharmonics and has performed internationally with the Cascade Reed Trio and National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
Camwell holds degrees from University of Calgary, University of Northern Colorado and University of Oregon. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts in 2007.
Currently, Camwell performs in the orchestra at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, including the Civic Center’s recent production of “Wicked.”
