Nov. 13, 2007
Michael Bugeja, a technology and society critic, will talk about his recent book, Interpersonal Divide, Nov. 13 in Camp Lounge at 7 p.m.
His book, which received the Clifford G. Christians Award for research in media ethics, discusses the distance humans experience when face-to-face contact is replaced with communication in the virtual world. It also examines the changes in society, media and media theory that are occurring because of new technology.
Bugeja is the director of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University.
