The 2nd Annual Simpson College Jazz Honor Band Festival Concert will take place at Simpson College Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.

The concert will feature the Simpson College Jazz Band, directed by Dave Camwell, assistant professor of music, followed by the Honor Band conducted by guest director Gene Aitken.

The Honor Band consists of high school students nominated by their band directors to take part in the festival. The students will spend time on Simpson’s campus rehearsing with Aitken, Downbeat’s 2007 Jazz Educator of the Year, before the concert begins.
