Festival of short plays performed

Theatre SimpsonTheatre Simpson will present  “Festival 2009: American Theatre Between the World Wars" in April.

Performances will be held April 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. and April 5 at 1 p.m. in Barnum Studio Theatre.

The festival is an examination of the period when American theatre matured from a fledgling sideshow of sentiment and uninspired entertainments into a serious, powerful and commanding force in Western theatre.

The following one-act plays will be performed:

  • "Suppressed Desires" by Susan Glaspell and George Cram Cook
  • "Before Breakfast" by Eugene O’Neill
  • "The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden" by Thornton Wilder
  • "Thirst" by Eugene O’Neill

Adult tickets are $10 and non-Simpson student tickets are $9.
