The Simpson College chapter of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) recently launched a new Web site to highlight the businesses in downtown Indianola.

The site, www.indianolatownsquare.com, features events, photos, news and information that is relevant to the Town Square.

SIFE members developed the site to create a stronger connection between campus and the downtown businesses.

“Whether you talk to Simpson officials or Indianola business leaders one aspect that has remained consistent over the years is that there seems to be a real disconnect between Simpson students and businesses on The Square,” said Tom Schmidt, associate professor of management. “It is hoped that the new Web site will help provided a link between the two groups.”

SIFE, a student business organization, seeks to underscore the importance of a free market system through educational outreach, community involvement and entrepreneurship.
