Simpson hosts events during RAGBRAI

Simpson College will host a variety of events when Indianola serves as an overnight host for RAGBRAI July 21. Simpson will also provide RAGBRAI riders with many options for food and a chance to catch up with the world with free Internet access in a variety of locations. All events are open to the public.

The Simpson Welcome Center will be located on C Street in front of the Cowles Athletic Center. It will be open Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Center will provide the latest information on campus events as well as a few free goodies. Simpson College President John Byrd (also riding RAGBRAI as a member of Team Simpson) will be at the center from 3 to 5 p.m.

Three tethered hot air balloons will light up the night as Indianola shows off the sights that made the city known around the world. Weather permitting. Concessions will be available.

Locations at Bill Buxton Football Stadium (extended hours), McBride Baseball Field and the Simpson Softball Field

Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 5 a.m. to noon

Items include baked potato bar, walking tacos, smoothies and assorted beverages. Morning fare will include muffins, fruit and coffee.

Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., $9.95 per person
Wednesday from 6 to 8 a.m.,

Dinner menu will include pasta bar, carved roast beef, baked potato bar, pizza, salad bar and dessert. Breakfast menu will include fresh fruit, ham, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, egg sandwich with croissants, blueberry pancakes, waffle bar and yogurt bar with assorted pastries. Beverages and snacks will also be available through Pfeiffer Express on Tuesday from 1 to 5 p.m.


INTERNET ACCESS

Internet Café

Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon
C offee shop has access to computers and TV. Starting at 5 a.m. Wednesday, a golf cart from the café will be roaming the campgrounds with coffee, newspapers and other necessities.
