Free class explains evening, weekend programs

Simpson is offering a free one-credit course, called Transitions, to introduce new and prospective students to its Evening and Weekend programs.
The event will give new and prospective students the opportunity to meet current students and faculty, tour Simpson’s campuses in West Des Moines, Ankeny and Indianola; and learn about the services available to Simpson’s evening and weekend students.
The class meets a total of three evenings during a three-week period. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on the following dates:
- August 4 in West Des Moines
- August 11 in Ankeny
- August 18 in Indianola
The three-week course will cover a variety of topics, including:
- Balancing work, family and classes
- Learning strategies, time management and note taking skills
- Introduction to other adult students, advisors who work evenings and faculty members
- Tour of each campus
- Library resources, technology resources, Hawley Academic Resource Center
- How to maximize financial aid
- How to pay for classes and use the no-interest tuition reimbursement loan
