The Des Moines Metro Opera (DMMO) will kick off its 36th season June 20 in the Blank Performing Arts Center at Simpson College.

The season, which runs through July 13, will feature three productions: “A Masked Ball,” “Regina” and “The Elixir of Love.”

Simpson Professor of Music Robert Larsen, who has been a member of the college’s faculty for 50 years, founded DMMO and serves as its creative director. Under Larsen’s direction, DMMO has come to be regarded as one of the top summer opera companies in the world.
