Student teams from each department, approximately 20 teams, competed Monday, Jan. 21 to determine which three teams would participate in the final round of the event Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in Camp Lounge. Teams from social sciences, women's studies and philosophy advanced to the final round.
Ethics Bowl is a tournament style competition where teams compete against each other in several rounds of debate. During the first round, teams answered questions about ethics that are similar to issues college graduates may be faced with during their careers. During the final round, the three teams will each have 20 minutes to answer questions relating to ethical dilemmas faced by colleges and universities. A panel of Simpson faculty members will judge both rounds.
The winning team will receive a $400 cash prize.
