Twenty-five Simpson students and six faculty members attended the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in late January.

During the conference, students went to workshops, auditioned for scholarships, interviewed for summer internships and watched productions. Many of the Simpson faculty members present lead workshops and served as judges for competitions.

Two students, Jon Feld and Jacob Kaufman, received awards for their design work for Theatre Simpson’s fall production “Antigone: Speaking Truth.”

Associate Professor of Theatre Art Tom Woldt, who is serving a three-year term as the Region V chair, was instrumental in the planning of the event.

More than 2,000 students from approximately 75 colleges and universities throughout the Midwest attended the weeklong festival, which was held in Omaha, Neb.
