Students return to wireless campus
Sept. 1, 2009
As students return to Simpson for the start of the new academic year, they will be greeted by an entirely wireless campus.
During the summer, Simpson completed its efforts to make high-speed wireless Internet available across the whole campus.
Simpson, which starts classes Sept. 1, is one of the few colleges in Iowa to provide wireless Internet to every location on campus.
“The expansion of the Simpson wireless network has transformed any location on campus into an enhanced learning space,” said Steve Griffith, vice president and dean for academic affairs. “Simpson offers its students many great opportunities for learning outside of the classroom through research, service and internship experiences. The wireless upgrades boost these efforts by allowing Simpson students to access the resources they need for completing extracurricular projects and coursework at a time and a place that is convenient for them.”
