Sophia hosts awareness event

The campus organization Sophia will sponsor “Take Back the Night” April 16 at 7 p.m. in Smith Chapel.
The annual event, which is being held in conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, is open to survivors of violence, supporters of survivors and advocates wishing to eliminate violence from the community.
At the event, survivors can voice their stories in a supportive environment. Those wanting to end violence can listen to stories and show support by being present.
Additionally, members of Sophia will be selling buttons and bumper stickers to raise money for battered women’s shelters in the community.
