Simpson hosts 'Living with Diabetes'

Simpson College will host “Living with Diabetes: Childhood Stories and Beyond” April 8 at 6 p.m. in Room 205 of the Carver Science Center.
Two individuals with diabetes, Heidi Rhinehart and Barbara Modlin, will discuss living with the disease. Rhinehart, who had a pancreas transplant, and Modlin, an insulin pump recipient, will also talk about the treatments they’ve received for diabetes.
Steven Suvalsky, who works in the Department of Pathology at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will also speak. He will provide information about the disease and discuss career opportunities available for those who wish to help solve the mystery of illnesses such as diabetes.
