Mildred Kalish, author of “Little Heathens: Hard Times and High Spirits on an Iowa Farm during the Great Depression,” will discuss her memoir April 8 at 7 p.m. at Hoyt Sherman Place.

The event is sponsored by the Iowa History Center at Simpson College and the Des Moines Public Libraries AViD Author Series.

Hoyt Sherman Place is located in Des Moines at 1501 Woodland Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
