April 28, 2008
Almost 200 students will go abroad during Simpson’s May Term, which begins April 28.
May Term is a three-week period where students take one course to allow for in-depth research and study.
In addition to a variety of on-campus offerings, this year, 10 international trips and four domestic trips were offered as options for the term.
International trips will take students to Madagascar, French Polynesia, China, Namibia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Great Britain, Spain and Ghana. Domestic trips will take students to Colorado, Texas, New York and Ohio.
Because of Simpson’s May Term trips and semester abroad programs, approximately 43 percent of Simpson students study internationally during their time at the college. Simpson is one of only three Iowa colleges to be listed in U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of institutions with the most students studying abroad.
