Instrumental Ensembles
Students at Simpson have many opportunities for instrumental and vocal performance. Music performance majors, music education majors and students majoring in other disciplines are eligible for all of the performing groups.
In addition to the Symphonic Band, the many chamber ensembles offer instrumental students a wide variety of learning and performing experiences. Chamber music is written for very small ensembles consisting of two to ten musicians. With only one player per part and no conductor, chamber music requires high levels of musicianship from all members of an ensemble if it is to be performed well.
