Amy Robertson Music Center
The Amy Robertson Center for Music opened its doors in the Fall of 1983. It includes 22 spacious practice rooms, 14 faculty studios, Harris Hall (band rehearsal room), Duncan Hall (choral rehearsal room), Madsen Hall (multi-purpose classroom) and the 200 seat Lekberg Recital Hall.
Salsbury Hall of Music
The Salsbury Hall of Music wing on the music building, completed in 1997, includes six studios for instructors, a choral rehearsal room (Duncan Hall) and a classroom (Madsen Hall).
Lekberg Hall
Lekberg Hall is a 200 seat recital hall. It is used for student recitals, the Tuesday music convocations, Jazz Ensemble performances, campus lectures and other performances. The hall is named after Sven and Mildred Lekberg. Sven Lekberg was the department chair for many years and Mildred Lekberg was a member of the music faculty. Both are still fondly remembered for their lasting influence by many former students, and their legacy of dedication to fine music lives on in the music heard in Lekberg Hall.
Harris Hall

Harris Hall is primarily used as the band rehearsal hall. The hall was named in honor of Dale C. and Enid Harvey Harris, graduates of the class of 1925, and in recognition of their contributions to the field of instrumental music, their loyalty and care of their alma mater, and their generosity in providing financial support to generations of Simpson College students.
Duncan Hall
Duncan Hall is in the Salsbury Hall of Music wing. It is an elegant rehearsal area for the choral groups and also serves as an intimate setting for small recitals and voice classes. It is named for the late Douglas Duncan, Simpson graduate and co-founder of the Des Moines Metro Opera.
Madsen Hall
Madsen Hall is a classroom in the Salsbury Hall of Music. It was designed to look like the performance hall in the old Conservatory of Music, complete with stained glass windows.
Smith Memorial Chapel
Smith Memorial Chapel houses the magnificent newly restored 51 rank Reuter organ originally built in 1968 and a Reuter practice organ. The Kinney-Lindstrom Listening Room and Midi Lab, faculty studios, and classrooms are located in the lower level of Smith Chapel.
Kinney-Lindstrom Listening Room and Midi Lab
The listening room, located in the lower level of Smith Chapel, was updated in 2001 with all new listening stations for student use. The listening collection contains CD's, LP's and tapes. The Midi Lab is equipped with eight midi keyboard and computer workstations. The keyboards are 88-note Baldwin digital pianos. Each computer is loaded with ear training, theory, music writing, and band software programs that are used by students in class work, for research and for homework help.
A.H. and Theo Blank Performing Arts Center
The Blank Performing Arts Center, built in 1971, contains the 500 seat Pote Theatre and the smaller, more intimate Barnum Studio Theatre. The Simpson College music and theatre departments use the facility for their productions, and it is also home to Des Moines Metro Opera performances in the summers.
