The Orpheus Summer Music Camp is an exciting music camp experience for high school musicians that includes classes in music theory and history, ensemble and solo training, daily individual lessons, and workshop training for operetta and musical theatre. The Camp staff is comprised of specialized Simpson College faculty members. Scholarships are available. Deadline for application and audition recordings is May 15, 2012.
Cost: $495 for tuition, room & board, & daily individual lessons. (application deadline by May 1)
After that, $525 comprehensive fee.
Scholarships:
Scholarships are available by audition to cover part of the tuition. The audition is by CD (no video tapes, please) and should be received with the application no later than May 15, 2012.
John & Faye Abild Music Scholarship:
The National Federation of Music Clubs will award two $350 scholarships to students who are proficient in piano to attend the Orpheus Music Festival at Simpson. All piano students who send in an audition tape or CD and the completed Orpheus application will be considered for the Abild Music Scholarships. Students who have won the scholarship previously are not eligible to re-apply.
