Music Weekend Schedule

Friday

  8:30    Registration the Amy Robertson Music Center - Juice and Doughnuts 
  9:15    General Meeting with Dr. Maria DiPalma, Department Chair, Lekberg Hall
10:00    Music Theory Class with Dr. Ronald Albrecht, Smith Chapel, Classroom 1
11:00    Morning Music: A short program featuring choral and instrumental music,
             Smith Chapel. (Parents and families are invited.)

12:00    Lunch with music students in Pfeiffer Dining Hall 
                  (Student lunch ticket provided by the College)

1:00    Class in Music Education with Dr. Michael Patterson, Lekberg Hall
2:00    Class in Music History with Mr. Timothy McMillin, Madsen Hall
3:00    Break
3:30    Choral Reading Session with Mr. Timothy McMillin, Duncan Hall
4:30    Concert Band Rehearsal with Dr. Michael Eckerty, Harris Hall 
            (Bring your instrument to participate in the band rehearsal.)

5:30    Dinner Break (Dinner on your own)

7:30    Faculty-Student Concert: Featuring various Simpson music faculty in solo
           performances, the Madrigal Singers and  the Jazz Ensemble in a special
           evening of music, Lekberg Hall. (Parents and families are invited.)

Saturday

  8:00    Music Scholarship Auditions, Lekberg Hall

12:00  Lunch with music students and faculty, Pfeiffer Dining Hall.  Special
           entertainment will be presented. 
           (Student lunch ticket provided by the College) 

12:45 – Pep Band- meet pep band member in ARMC lobby to go to game

                   (Pep Band will play for the football game, 1 – 3:30; tickets for the game will be  
                     provided for student and parents.)

 

1:00     Music Scholarship Auditions, Lekberg Hall

3:00     Informal gathering for conversation and refreshments. 
            The Wallace Commons.  Parents and families are invited.
