Music Department Auditions

Simpson offers music major scholarshipsand music participation, or activity, scholarships.

Music scholarships are part of the financial aid award.  Financial aid awards are sent to the student after the student has completed an audition, filed the FAFSA and been accepted to the college. You may apply for admission to Simpson College online , or by contacting the admissions department to have an application sent to you. Since there is no application fee, you are encouraged to complete the application process as soon as possible.

The deadline for scholarship auditions is April 1, 2012.

Can I send in a tape or CD for an audition?
We do accept cassette tapes or CD's for music scholarship auditions, however, we always encourage the prospective student to perform a live audition. The live audition gives us a chance to meet you, talk to you and evaluate your talent.  An in-person audition also gives you a chance to meet the music faculty, tour the facility and campus and ask questions about the department.
If you live out of state and have either already visited the campus or can not visit before the scholarship deadline, then a recorded audition is your best option.
Instructions for preparing and sending an audition on CD or cassette tape:
          1.  Review audition requirements.
