Guest Speaker - Eric Smith, Pricing Agent at Nationwide Insurance

Mr. Smith will explain what it is like to be an actuary and discuss the skills and knowledge needed to be successful. He will also give specifics about Nationwide Insurance and why you should consider a career with Nationwide.
Math Department Open House

Stop by anytime to get advice from faculty about why you should study mathematics, learn what you can do with a math major or minor, discuss the new actuarial science major or the honors in mathematics major, ask what classes you should take next semester, ask what classes you should take based on your career goals, and so on. Snacks provided!

Midwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium (MUMS)
Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, 2012
MUMS is held every spring at Simpson College. This symposium is an opportunity for students from Iowa and surrounding states to share their work in mathematics and learn about work completed by other students. Refer to the MUMS page for more information.
Summer 2012
Our summer research program is an opportunity for first and second year students to spend eight weeks of the summer doing undergraduate research in mathematics. Students receive stipends for participating. Refer to the Bryan Summer Research Program page for more information.
