The faculty and students of the Mathematics Department regularly participate in several state, regional, and national conferences.
- The annual meeting of the Iowa Section of the Mathematical Association of America, usually held in late spring.
- The annual meeting of the Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics, usually held in early spring.
- Conferences of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
- The annual Midwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium, held in the spring on the Simpson campus.
- The Argonne Laboraties Undergraduate Research Symposium, held in early November.
- The Joint Meetings of the Mathematical Association of America and the American Mathematical Society, held in January.
- The MAA's MathFest, held in late July or early August.

Summer - Six students and five professors attended MathFest in Madison.
April - Hosted the meeting of the Iowa Section of the MAA.
