Visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr. Ali al-Mahmoud, professor of mass communication at the University of Qatar, will deliver a lecture titled "The Culture and Politics of the Arabian/Persian Gulf," on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in Camp Lounge located in the Brenton Student Center.

Dr. al-Mahmoud is also a consultant to Qatar TV and Radio. He has experience as a sports announcer and news analyst on camera and has written for both Arabic and English language newspapers in Qatar.

Qatar is a country located on a peninsula of East Arabia in the Persian Gulf.
