The Simpson College Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dave Camwell, will present its Fall Concert Tuesday, November 1, at 8 p.m. in Lekberg Hall. “The concert will feature a good mix of classic tunes and really new pieces,” Camwell said. “We’ll be doing some modern, hip stuff.”

The concert will feature some works by Texas composer Dan Cavanagh, including “North South,” which was commissioned by Camwell and will see its Iowa premiere at the concert. The ensemble will also play works by Andy Weiner, John La Barbara, Sammy Nestico and Pat Metheny.

The program is free and open to the public.
