Journalist, activist, artist and professor of communication studies from the University of Iowa, Kembrew McLeod, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 in the Brenton Student Center at Simpson College in Indianola.
McLeod is the author of “Freedom of Expression: Overzealous Bozos and Other Enemies of Creativity,” and has also written music criticism for The Rolling Stone, Village Voice and Spin. He co-produced a 2001 documentary “Money for Nothing: Behind the Business of Pop Music,” and with UI almnus Ben Franzen, McLeod is currently working on a documentary on the history of digital sampling and sound collage.
