Simpson College assistant professor of history, Jennifer Hedda, will present “If We Build It, He Will Come: The Kingdom of God in Orthodox Social Thought” during the Fall Harold Watson Lecture at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 in Camp Lounge of the Brenton Student Center at Simpson College in Indianola.

Hedda, who holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University, will present the lecture on the Eastern Orthodox philosophy, concentrating on the works of Father Grigorii Petrov, a priest and widely-read author in late Imperial Russia from the 1890s to the early 1900s. The lecture is based on Hedda’s work for her doctoral dissertation, which may soon be published.
