The Simpson College feminist group Sophia recently donated $350 to help victims of domestic violence in Warren County. Sophia coordinator Jamie Olberding presented the check to Andrea Jones, Project Reach Out advocate, and Rhonda Ballou, victim and witness coordinator for the Warren County Domestic Violence Coalition.

The group raised the money by holding a fundraiser in March selling buttons and T-shirts and hosting a Take Back the Night rally that drew more than 80 people to raise issues of women in society and violence toward women. During the rally Simpson College assistant professor of English Beth Jorgensen spoke of her past experience with violence.
