Simpson to host regional softball tournament May 11-15

Simpson (28-12) received its first NCAA Division III Softball Tournament bid since 2000 and was selected to host the Midwest Regional May 11-15 in Indianola.  The Storm are the No. 7 seed and will take Iowa Conference regular season and tournament champion Wartburg (36-5) at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Other matchups include defending national champion St. Thomas, Minn. (41-2) earning the No. 1 seed and playing the No. 8 seed, Concordia, Wis. (21-21) at 10 a.m. Thursday. Washington, Mo.(35-5), the No. 4 seed plays the No. 5 seed St. Scholastica, Minn. (36-7) at 12 p.m. The final first round game will pit the No. 3 seed, Louisiana College (32-5) against the No. 6 seed Fontbonne, Mo. (34-9) at 2 p.m.
