Simpson College junior Tia Nearmyer, who is doing an internship with Maryland Rep. Albert Wynn in Washington, D.C., has been named Intern of the Week by The Hill newspaper.

A mass communications and political science major from Newton, Nearmyer, has spent the semester in Washington. When she’s on campus, she is a member of Delta Delta Delta, the Campus Activities Board, intramurals and the political science club.
