SIFE to host first annual Ethics Bowl on March 22

Simpson College's Students in Free Enterprise will hold its first "Ethics Bowl" competition at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 in the Pioneer Conference Room of McNeill Hall.

Eight teams of four students nominated by the academic department will compete by answering a series of questions about ethical issues. Each team will be judged on the ethical nature of their responses with judging by members of the Simpson faculty.

"Our goal is to create an awareness of ethical issues among students and the community," said Tom Schmidt, assistant professor of management and SIFE advisor. "It is our hope that we have the winning teams serve as judges for a future high school competition."

Schmidt adds that studying and promoting ethical behavior is part of the national SIFE mission. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact (515) 961-1600.
