Women's History Month celebration

With the 10th  anniversary of her play marked by an array of engagements, Karen Eterovich, the actress and author of Love Arm'd: Aphra Behn and Her Pen, will celebrate Women's History Month with another tour of performances and residencies designed to highlight the unique work and literary contributions of Aphra Behn, whose plays are known for their quick wit and parodies of society.

Eterovich will perform Love Arm'd on Thursday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Pote Theatre in the Blank Performing Arts Center at Simpson College.

Eterovich has performed Love Arm'd on stages throughout the United States and Europe to wide critical acclaim, including engagements at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  Love Arm'd has also become a popular educational vehicle for theatre students at the college level, keeping Eterovich in constant demand as both a lecturer and performer.

She created the piece after performing in a play by Behn, and finding herself fascinated by the writer.  Leonard Jacobs of Backstage, commenting on Love Arm'd, says Eterovich "not only conveys what made [Behn] vividly alive when she lived, but what keeps her alive now that she's gone."

Artistic Directors Deborah Wright Houston and Renée Bucciarelli have dubbed Eterovich "one of the most accomplished and charismatic talents we have been privileged to work with in our 20 years of producing classical theatre," and Jessica Munns, Director of Critical and Cultural Studies at the University of Denver has called the performance  "a real tour de force, witty, moving, and informative."

The performance is free and open to the public.
