The pursuit of pleasure is at the heart of the latest offering from Theatre Simpson. George Etherege’s bawdy Restoration comedy The Man of Mode, performs Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 6 at 1 p.m.
This play, directed by Jennifer Ross Nostrala, is an entertaining exploration of love and relationships set in the midst of the debauchery and excess of the late 17th century. Have things changed or are we just playing the same games of love today in the midst of new technology?
Make it a complete evening out with the special dinner theatre sponsored by the theatre honorary Alpha Psi Omega on Saturday, March 5 at 6 p.m. Dinner options include chicken forestie're with wild mushroom wine sauce or spinach artichoke and ricotta pie. Cost is $25, which includes a ticket to the show.
To reserve tickets, contact the Theatre Simpson box office beginning Monday, Feb. 21 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays at 515.961.1601 or e-mail tsboxoffice@simpson.edu.
Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $7 for non-Simpson students.
