Simpson College will host a recital featuring Maria DiPalma, faculty soprano, at 8 p.m. on Jan. 20 in Great Hall.
Accompanied by Robert L. Larsen on the piano, DiPalma will perform "The Queen's Epicidium" by Henry Purcell, which is an extended piece lamenting and commemorating the death of Queen Mary of England in 1694. She will also perform a group of songs in German by the Austrian Hugo Wolf, a selection of French songs by the impressionist composer Claude Debussy and folk melodies by Joseph Canteloube from the mid 20th century.
