Students raise hundreds of dollars for cystic fibrosis

Two Simpson College students recently climbed their way to the top. Not to the top of the corporate ladder, but to the top of the IDS Tower in Minneapolis as part of Climb For A Cure for cystic fibrosis.

Freshmen Crystal Covington and Katie Olson climbed 1,280 steps to the top of the tower on Feb. 11 where they presented a check for $880 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to go toward research for a cure.

Covington has participated in CF fundraisers before, since a family member of one of her friends has the disease. This year she was asked to be a sponsor and team leader so she joined with her friend to form Team Simpson. Team Simpson has been asked to participate in a Des Moines area walk for cystic fibrosis in May.
