Western Ontario philosophy professor to speak on immortality of the soul
Benjamin Hill, assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Western Ontario, will present “Thinking Substance, Thinking Power and the Decline of the Argument for the Soul’s Immortality” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Simpson College.
A native of southern Iowa, Hill concentrates on the history of modern philosophy from the Renaissance through the 18th century, and he specializes in the study of John Locke and his theory of metaphysics. During this lecture, Hill will make an argument for the immortality of the soul.
Hill holds a bachelor of arts in philosophy, mathematics and history from Simpson College and a doctorate of philosophy from the University of Iowa. He has been published in the British Journal in History of Philosophy and the Southern Journal of Philosophy.
