Greek houses to teeter-totter for cystic fibrosis

The Simpson College chapters of Alpha Chi Omega and Lambda Chi Alpha will have a 26-hour teeter-totter marathon to raise money for cystic fibrosis at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 28th in front of the Brenton Student Center.

Several years ago a women at Simpson’s Alpha Chi Omega who had cystic fibrosis married a Lambda Chi Alpha, but later passed away at a young age because of the disease. The event is held to honor her and her battle.

In addition to the teeter-totter marathon, a barbecue accompanied by music will be held to raise money. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th, the event will be moved to the Wal-Mart in Indianola.

The two houses are taking individual donations before and during the event, and are also looking for businesses who would like to make a monetary donation or donation of products or services to be raffled during the fundraiser. Wal-Mart has generously offered to match a portion of the money raised during the event. For more information or to make a donation, contact (515) 962-4699 or hartney@simpson.edu.
