Composer to Bobby McFerrin to perform at concert

The Simpson College Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert at 8 p.m. on April 4 in Lekberg Hall.

Under the direction of music instructor and faculty saxophonist Dave Camwell, the concert will feature guest performer Steve Owen from the University of Oregon. Nationally known in the world of jazz, Owen is a composer, arranger, soloist, clinician and educator. He is the founder and director of the Oregon Jazz Celebration and music director of the Peter Britt Festival Jazz Camp. His works have been performed by Bobby McFerrin (of “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” fame) and Anne Marie Moss.
