Theater Simpson will present The British Invasion: Festival 2006 at 7:30 p.m. April 7 and 8 and 1 p.m. April 9 in Barnum Studio Theater of the Blank Performing Arts Center.
Performed by and directed by Simpson students, the festival features a presentation of three short plays by two of Britain’s most important contemporary playwrights.
“Three More Sleepless Nights” by Caryl Churchill, directed by Jenna Bruning, tells the tale of four people in failed relationships all trying to make sense of their lives.
“A Separate Peace” by Tom Stoppard and directed by Erica Spiller is the story of a man who shows up at a hospital as though he were checking into a hotel, leaving the audience wondering why a healthy man would seek refuge in a hospital.
“The Boundary” by Tom Stoppard and Clive Exton will be directed by Victor May. The performance features two scholars finishing work on a dictionary who arrive to find their office in chaos and their work destroyed.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for non-Simpson students and $6 for groups of 10 or more, available at the Theater Simpson box office at (515) 961-1601 or tsboxoffice@simpson.edu. The box office is also open from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
