The Theatre Simpson company will present four one-acts by or inspired by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 in the Barnum Studio Theatre.
The four plays include two Chekhov one-acts The Festivities and The Bear. The Festivities “a comic sketch in one act” invites the audience into a world where chaos reigns supreme. The Bear captures the madness of human nature as well as the emotional gymnastics of romantic relationships.
The Chekhov inspired pieces, The Audition, from Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor and A Dopey Fairy Tale by Michael Weller are both about the pursuit of dreams.
To reserve tickets, contact the Theatre Simpson box office beginning Wednesday, March 30 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays at 515.961.1601 or e-mail tsboxoffice@simpson.edu.
Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $7 for non-Simpson students.
