Prerequisites: None
Cost: None
Time/Location: As scheduled by instructor
Enrollment: 12
This course will focus on the history of lay and ordained ministry in the Church from the first century to the present. Students will engage in critical and reflective conversations on various understandings of these roles in different times and cultures, as they decide what models best reflect their own understanding of what it means to be clergy or laity. Guest speakers from several Christian faith traditions will share their experience of ministry; we will travel to some nearby churches for site visits.
