The Lilly Initiative for Vocational Exploration (LIVE) at Simpson provides resources to help students, staff, faculty and alumni explore vocation.
The Initiative has three major goals for students:
- To provide a structured process of personal reflection, beginning with the common summer reading for all entering students.
- To provide varied opportunities through the curriculum and through service learning to help students develop a stronger understanding of vocation.
- To encourage, identify and support students who desire exploration of the call to professional ministry.
The Lilly Initiative recognizes the key roles faculty and staff play in helping students to develop a sense of vocation and some of our programs are designed to equip faculty and staff with new resources for working with students. The hope of those who fund the Lilly Initiative is to help all members of the campus community learn to think critically, lead wisely, serve generously and live faithfully.
