Psychology Research

Trying to find professional research articles in psychology?  Search both PsycINFO/PsycARTICLES and Academic Search Premier for best results.

  • PSYCINFO/PSYCARTICLES/PSYCBOOKS - The best place to start professional psychology research.  PsycINFO/PsycARTICLES citations contain descriptors--use these APA descriptors in searches.

Full-text of some articles is provided.  Other articles may also available as online full-text; to find out, click the Journals @Dunn link beneath the citation.  If not available at Dunn, try Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

  • ACADEMIC SEARCH PREMIER - Academic Search Premier (ASP) from EBSCOhost contains professional research, including the field of psychology.  When searching ASP use the APA descriptors to get best results.

Full-text of some articles is provided.  Other articles may also available as online full-text; to find out, click the Journals@Dunn link beneath the citation or search http://az3bx8av5y.search.serialssolutions.com/.  If not available at Dunn, try Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

  • JOURNALS AT DUNN - This searches Dunn Library's journal collection, including paper (Dunn Library Print Holdings) and electronic formats.  Searches in Journals @Dunn will indicate if the library has access to journals.

Sometimes, access to electronic journals might be limited due to "embargos."  This means that the library does not have full-text access to the most current six months to a year of a journal.  Articles in these journals can be ILL.

Note:  When doing professional research in any database, most results will be in citation format only, no online full-text available.  If you are having trouble finding/accessing research articles, contact Ask a Librarian or stop at the reference desk in the library for help.
