Consulting Librarian/Faculty Liaison Program

The consulting librarian will:

  • facilitate annual department meeting about library resources;
  • consult with the liaison about course/research/degree changes that might impact collections, instruction and other library services;
  • keep the liaison informed about new library initiatives including resources, services, instruction and web pages;
  • collaborate with the liaison to develop a useful collection to meet departmental needs; and,
  • work closely with the liaison on collection development, especially journal and database holdings.

The library asks that the departmental faculty liaison:

  • schedule annual department meeting about library resources with librarian;
  • keep your librarian informed about course/research/degree changes that might impact collections, instruction and other library services;
  • encourage all faculty to communicate their individual information and instruction needs with your librarian;
  • share library communications with your colleagues; and,
  • facilitate discussion of collection development, especially journal and database holdings.
