Bringing a personal computer to campus? Here is some required and recommended computer hardware and software to bring with you.
All Computers
- 25' Ethernet patch cord (for wired connection)
- 802.11b or g (for wireless connection)
Macintosh
- Macintosh OS 10.3.X or higher
- All Macintosh OS critical updates
- Free Anti-Virus software provided by Simpson College
Windows
- Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7
- All Microsoft Windows critical updates

To connect your computer to the Simpson College network just follow the "Get Connected" link on the Simpson College Information Services homepage http://www.simpson.edu/is . There are three main steps; connecting to the SCSTUDENT wireless SSID, installing Cisco NAS client on your computer, and validating your computer by logging on to Cisco NAS to make sure you have a current anti-virus software and to make sure you have all your Windows critical system updates. If you don't have a current A/V software package then you will be prompted to install Simpson's FREE anti-virus software package from Kaspersky.
