Cisco NAC secures student computers and prevents the spread of viruses and malware within a shared network. You must configure your wireless setting before attempting to configure Cisco NAC.
Step 1
After configuring your laptop for the scstudent wireless network, you will be taken to the above screen or open Internet Explorer and navigate to an off campus website like www.msn.com. You will see this security warning and click on the No button.
Step 2
Enter your Simpson College username and password in the fields on the left hand side of the window.
Step 3
Click on the Launch Cisco NAC Windows Agent.
Step 4
In most instances the information bar above circled here in red will appear. Click on this bar and install. If the information bar doesn’t appear, Internet Explorer already has this add-in and you can continue.
Step 5
Click Next to start the installation of Cisco NAC Agent.
Step 6
Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement radio button and click Next.
Step 7
Make sure Complete radio button is selected and click Next.
Step 8
Click the Install button.
Step 9
Click finish and Cisco NAC Agent is installed.
Step 10
You will be prompted to log into Clean Access. Enter your Simpson College username and password.
Step 11
Temporary network access is given when Windows updates or anti-virus software are needed. Click repair and follow the on screen prompts to resolve this issue.
Step 12
If you have all your Windows updates installed and Simpson’s anti-virus program installed or your own anti-virus program installed and updated you will receive the window above. Click Accept.
Step 13
Click OK. You are completely configured for the Simpson College network.
