In order to access the campus network resources, including the Internet, you will have to connect to the SCSTUDENT wireless network or connect an Ethernet patch cord to the jack in your housing unit that has either a red or black computer label over it. Click here to see the instructions for connecting to the SCSTUDENT wireless network. Next, you will need to open Internet Explorer and try to connect to an off campus website like www.cnn.com. This will guide you through installing the Cisco NAC client, click here for those instructions. You will then log into the Cisco NAC client and either have a full connection or a temporary connection. If it is only a temporary connection click on the repair button and follow those instructions to gain full access.
We have also provided the individual links above for instructions on how to configure and connect your computer to the Simpson College network. There are also printed instruction sheets available in our office. Remember, you can install Simpson's Kaspersky Anti-Virus that we are providing at no charge.
If you have problems with the set up or with obtaining updates, please refer to the FAQ link and then call Information Services at (515) 961-1681 if you cannot resolve your problem.
