1. Click Start-Contol Panel

2. In the Control Panel find the System Icon and double click on it.
3. The System Properties window will appear. Click on the Hardware tab at the top and select Device Manager to open the Device Manager. You should see this window now.

4. Look in the device list for Network Adapters and click the plus next to it to show the list of network adapters. Double click on the network adapter. This will open the device configuration window, and at the top choose the tab titled Power Management. There will be a check box next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Clear the check mark and click OK. Close all the windows left open and the adapter should be configured.
